This book could quite possibly be the ultimate guide for sensory activities. It holds activities for just about every kind of kid with every kind of need. This includes sensory seekers and sensory avoiders.

Not all of the activities are appropriate for older teens and young adults, but there are SO MANY, the options for finding and adapting activities to fit any individual or group are EXTENSIVE.
If you listened to the podcast episode we made all about books, you’ll know that I tend to be a serial skimmer, and this book was no exception because, as I mentioned, there are just so many activities!
Rather than a deep read, I expect this to be a resource I return to when I find myself searching for an activity for a young adult who may be struggling to meet their sensory input needs.
Three case studies run throughout the book that unpack why these kinds of activities are important and helpful. Maybe you’ll be able to see some of the youth you work with in those stories. I saw mine. And I saw myself.
I wish I’d had access to some of these activities when I was growing up with SPD. I recommend grabbing a copy of this one for your own reference shelf ASAP.
