I checked this audio book out of my library’s app after I heard Rachel Jones on the She Reads Truth podcast last week.
She was extremely well-spoken on the topic of the book of Leviticus which gave me hope for the book.

As the title states, this is a brief book. The audio version is less than four hours long, which happens to be exactly the amount of time I’m OK with listening to/reading about the menstrual cycle.
Despite its brevity, I think it’s a great overview of things including cleanliness laws and pain and suffering.
Jones writes, “…If the biggest reality underpinning the universe is that Jesus is Lord and that he died to bring us into an eternal relationship with God, then that should shape how we think about all the other realities of our day-to-day existence.”
This is a book I would hand to one of the young ladies I work with, should they complain or have theological questions about their period. In our experience working with care leavers, girls are more ready to ask for help and join our program than boys are, and because of that, we work with a lot of 20-something girls with varying experiences of menstruation.
I recommend it if you’re looking for that brief overview, and for non-menstruating people. You can’t open your vagina, so open your mind instead!
