Mission:

Our goal is to become a global community of professionals caring for young adults aged out of orphanages and foster care.

Sponsor:

Lighthouse Transitional Care is a Christ-focused nonprofit organization in Riga, Latvia. We work with young adults aged out of the orphan care system or from difficult family backgrounds. Our goal is to mentor and lead them toward healthy adulthood. We do this by building mentoring relationships and teaching practical life skills.

Steps toward helping:

• Pray first
• Educate yourself about the aging-out experience and carers
• Support organizations already doing the work and ask them what they need and advocate
• If you decide to volunteer, start slow and fight against burnout
• Get vulnerable
• Continually discern your calling
